Another 5 new ones on tap this week including Bruno Mars on his own with a hot new track !

Bruno Mars- Just The Way You Are :  After "featuring"  on such hits as B.O.B.'S Nothin On You & Travie McCoy's Billionaire, this young Hawaiian artist is set to star on his own with the release of Doo-Wops & Hooligans- his first major release on Oct 5th.  This track has already hit the bilboard top 10.  Watch out for Bruno Mars, look's like he's here to stay.

Usher/Pitbull- DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love:  Raymond VS Raymond is the latest release from this modern day equivalent of oh.. let's say Micheal Jackson.  High praise i know, but the truth is this R&B dance man is probably as close as we have to that measure even if he is more than a few hits shy of the king of pop.  Pump yhis one up- Pittbull's on it too !

Shontelle- Impossible :  This is the first single off the second cd release "No Gravity" which will hit the shelves Aug 29th. The young barbados singer has promised fans that she'll be joining an exciting tour in the near future.  Find out more here

Longo & Wainwright- One Life Stand:  This british dance duo are heating up the raves with this single on the Universal label.  That is, i'm assuming so.. heck what do i know about raves ?  I looked in the window of one before- weird stuff i tell ya.

Andrew Allen- Loving You Tonight :  This British Columbia artist has won several music awards in his home province & is now ready for national coverage.  He's off to a good start with this one, nice tune.

Max Music aug 16th

It's been a while so let's hit ya up with a bunch of new tunes !

One Republic- Secrets :  The latest single from Waking Up comes with the band's trademark melodies & infectious chorus parts.  I was lucky enough to see the band perform this 3 times during their appearence on Regis & Kelly last month in P.E.I. The best part was  It only took the first listen to realize it's a great tune.  Meeting Ryan Tedder afterwards was cool too !

Mike Posner- Cooler Than Me :  This 22 year old from Detroit has just released his major label debut "31 Minutes To Takeoff" .  This tune has already gone top 10 on billboard with another single Please don't Go ready for lift-off.  Looks like Mike may be cooler than he thinks.

Taio Cruz- Dynamite : The followup to the huge single "Break Your Heart", the british R&B-Rap artist continues to do what he does best on this one, coming up with sing along pop tunes that stick in your head forever.  At least it does for me, heck i've been singing Dynamite for 6 days now... Yup- It's that good

Hedley- Hands Up:  Another single off "The Show Must Go"  At this rate every track from the cd will have a single release- which if you're the guys in Hedley is just fine with them.

Train- If It's Love :  Very catchy follow up to the very successful Hey Soul Sister single.  Lots of cool phrasing and play on word stuff on this one.  I like it.

Katy Perry- Teenage Dream :  By now you've probably realized we're not messing around with the big tunes this week.  Here's another great ex, the second single & title track from Katy Perry's Teenage Dream release which after much hype will drop on Aug 24th.  I'm sure that will fulfill more than a few teenager's dream's.

Two more hitting the airwaves including the return of Enrique Iglesias, yes I said Enrique Iglesias.

Enrique Iglesias/Pitbull-I Like It :  Eurphoria is the first bilingual album of this Latin Heartthrob's 15 year career which he hopes will satisfy both his english & spanish speaking fans.  An all star cast which includes Pittbull, Lionel Richie & Akon are all in on this one.  Welcome back Enrique !

Sweet Thing- Change Of Season : This 5 piece Toronto band will be releasing their debut cd on Aug 17th.  Cool band, check out the my space page

Max Music July 19th

A Couple new ones this week including the return of Maroon 5 !

Maroon 5- Misery:  Adam Levine and the rest of the Maroon 5 dudes are back ! Surely this will make Hot AC stations all over the world excited with another big shiny tune from the forthcoming cd "Hands All Over"  set to drop on Sept 21. 

Marianas Trench-Celebrity Status:  Another single from the Masterpiece Theatre release, with a very cool video to boot.  Gotta love those old school 90210 references.

Little behind on the new tunes these days with vacations going on so let's get at it !

Stef Lang- Mr. Immature :  One of the new up & comers to watch out for in the canadian music scene.  Stef hails from Vancouver and  Blood & Bravery is the 21 year old's debut cd.  Check the myspace page for more.

Fefe Dobson- Ghost :  The debut single from the forthcoming cd Joy from this young canadian singer songwriter.  Fefe is getting alot of attention these days stateside as reflected by the fact that this song was co-written by Kara DioGuardi of American idol fame.  Not bad considering her original second cd was scraped  because the single didn't chart.  I have a feeling the new one should do better when it drops in October.

Sarah Mclachlan- Loving You Is Easy :  Finally ! new music from SM.  The new cd is on the shelves now and is titled Laws Of Illusion- her first in 7 years.  Sarah is currently on the road with her Lillith Fair tour but not all has gone well with the tour, however Sarah is keeping it all in perspective.

Travie McCoy/Bruno Mars-Billionaire :  Formerly known as Travis, formerly known as Mr Katy Perry, and now just known as Travie, this is the lead off single off his debut cd Lazurus, his first away from his group Gym Class Heroes.  He wants to be a Billionaire- perhaps if he had stayed with Katy Perry he would have, i guess we'll never know.

Drake-Find Your Love :  Well by now we all know the story, former Degrassi star makes a mix tape and becomes the biggest Rap Star in the world, well something like that anyway.  Some guys have all the luck.

La Roux-Bulletproof:  This is  a british synth pop duo that calls such legendary synth groups like Erasure, Depeche Mode & Human League as influences.  The Debut cd was released in 2009.

Max Music June 24th

New Tuneage has been at a minimum lately but we're making up for it in a big way with 5 new adds this week including the new Lambert !

Adam Lambert- If I Had You :  The Glam Nation tour is in full effect and Adam Lambert has never been more popular.  This is the follow up to the massive Whataya Want From Me and looks to follow in it's success with it's danceable infectious sound.  Adam Lambert is here to stay and it looks like he's going to become the most famous Idol loser ever.  Take that people that didn't vote for Adam Lambert !

B.O.B./Haley Williams-Airplanes:  The adventures of Bobby Ray is the breakthrough release from this very Rap/Hip Hop artist that's taking the music world by storm .  The cd has a variety of collaborations and on this one the bobmister is being helped out by Haley Williams of Paramore fame.  Yes i said Paramore, that oughta make the kids scream.

Ash Koley-Don't Let Your Feet Touch The Ground:  Although You May be fooled in thinking this is just one female solo artist, Ash Koley is actually a canadian duo made up of members- wait for it- Ash Koley (well of course)  and Phil Deschambault.  According to the band's official website Phil says his name isn't catchy enough but personally I think he got a bad deal here.  Regardless Ash Koley is making a name for themselves as evidence by getting a slot on the lillith Fair Tour this summer.

Rob Thomas-Mockingbird:  Well what else can you say about Rob Thomas- other than when he was born i'm sure the doctor's told him he would be a huge success on Hot AC Radio and would go on to be  the representitive for mom rockers all over the world.  Mission accomplished !

Charice- Pyramid:  Whoo, getting pretty fatigued from all the typing here but I gotta say something on Charice and it's big and I mean huge.  Oprah Winfrey called this young lady the most Talented Girl In The World, i mean Oprah just doesn't go around giving out compliments like this, cars maybe yes, but not this.  So, my typing hand is getting really tired but as you can tell you've got plenty of reasons to listen out to max 104.9.

Three new ones including the return of Katy Perry !

Katy Perry- California Girls :  The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker is ready to proclaim summer with her first single off the forthcoming cd Teenage Dream set to drop in August.  Fans of Katy won't be disapointed with this one even if they do have to wait another 3 months for the cd, it's all about the hype as they say.  Speaking of which Maxim has hyped Katy as the hottest girl out there these days, read more here.

Nickelback- This Afternoon:  This is one of those summer tunes that you blast on the deck while having a cold one, in fact i'm pretty sure that's what it's about.  Gotta love summer !

Down With Webster- Your Man :  Well you don't hear many 7 piece pop rock bands these days bu Toronto's Down With Webster is one of them.  Timbaland & Gene Simmons were both interested in signing the group.  Their Universal/Motown debut Time to Win Vol 1 is the first of two 7 track mini albums will be released in the fall while vol 2 has already hit the shelves.  These guys are wacky.

John Mayer proves he actually does other things than talk about ex girllfriends.  And Canada's most underrated duo makes their debut on Max 104.9 !  Let's see what we've got

John Mayer/Taylor Swift- Half Of My Heart :  Hadn't heard much from Battle Studies, the latest John Mayer CD, that is until Taylor Swift got involved.  John Mayer knows a guaranteed hit when he hears one so probably a good idea for him to get Swift involved, musically not romantically that is... Then again I heard they were dating recently, can't say i'm surprised.

Tiesto/Tegan & Sara- Feel It IN My Bones :  Tiesto is a dutch trance artist whose latest release Kaleidoscope features the canadian twin sister act Tegan & Sara.  Nelly Furtado is also featured on the release.  Good to have this talented duo on Max even if it's not from their own CD.  Find out more on Tegan & Sara here.
